I went for the Seed Relic the first time thinking it'd be a normal side quest, then got humbled fast. If you're even considering it, get the main Easter egg done first and build your loadout around the attempt. I'm not kidding. I keep CoD BO7 Bot Lobby bookmarked for when I'm messing with prep runs and loadouts, because you don't want to be figuring out your setup while the game's already punishing you. Bring the Gobblegums that actually matter here: Insta-Kill, Temporal Gift, and Max Ammo. Everything else is comfort, those three are survival.
Up to Round 20, play it like you normally would. Farm Essence, get your perks, get something reliable upgraded. Then the moment the counter hits 20, slow down. Don't wipe the round. You're hunting a specific pistol that's just lying on the ground, and the spawn is random across six spots. I do a quick loop: check the Pack-a-Punch area first, then swing by Stamin-Up, then Juggernog, and finish the remaining checks on the way back. You'll feel silly staring at the floor with a train on you, but that's the job.
Once you pick it up, the whole run becomes fragile. You need exactly 20 kills with that pistol. Not "about" 20. Exactly. If you lose count and go over, it can soft-lock the step and you're looking at a reset. The pistol hits like a wet paper towel on Round 20, so set it up properly: make a clean train, pop Temporal Gift, then hit Insta-Kill and start tapping. I count out loud. At kill 20, stop. Put the pistol away right away and swap back to your main gun to finish the wave safely.
If you did it clean, you'll see a green portal as Round 21 begins. Jump in and you're in the Grim Trial. This is where people panic because your weapons get stripped and you're forced to use a Pack-a-Punched version of that pistol. You can't swap, but you can still spend scrap to bump rarity or add an Ammo Mod, which helps more than you'd think. You've got four waves in a tight arena, so keep rotating, use the stairs, and don't "hold" any corner for too long.
After the fourth wave drops, the Seed Relic spawns in that arena, like a golden spiked heart, and you'll get kicked back to the main map once you grab it. If you're trying to make the whole grind feel less brutal, it helps to plan your resources ahead of time, like having enough salvage ready for a quick upgrade the moment you load in. And if you're the type who likes smoothing out the boring parts—currency, items, the usual stuff—sites like RSVSR can be handy for stocking up so you can focus on the actual challenge instead of the chores.
